We will pick you up from the airport on 03.03.2024

Experience has shown that you will be landing there between 11 p.m. and midnight. Afterwards we will drive in a convoy to the Karawanserail to Khamlia and will be welcomed by MBarak's family with a delicious traditional Berber-style meal.

On 10.03.2024 we will bring you to the airport in the morning, departure at 4.30 a.m.
​
You have this option at any time if you just book a oneway flight.
If you are already in the country, you have the option of taking a Supra-Bus to Merzouga from any major city.
​
Merzouga is about 8 km from Khamlia and we can pick you up there at any time.
​
For larger groups there is the possibility to fly with Ryanair from Memmingen/Germany to Fez. Our friend Mohammid will pick you up at the airport and bring you to his Hotel Riad d'Or and will be organizing the onward journey to our place in Khamlia. For worldwide arrivals there is the possibility to fly with Ryanair via London to Essaouira.

Essaouira is a beautiful seaside city with a very old medina and lots of sightseeing. From there you can reach us by Supra-Bus or Taxi.
Accommodation in the Karawanserail
Khamlia is a small village, about 8 km from Merzouga.
Many Gnaua musicians are based here, in particular the Group Bamberas, in which MBarak played for several years.
Accommodation in the Karawanserail takes place in fixed Berber tents.
We are planning to set up larger tents for groups and smaller tents for couples.

Individuals also have the possibility to live with our neighboring friends.
The tents are furnished with mattresses, clothes, rails and seating.
You are responsible for your valuables. There are no lockable safe compartments.
There are several hotels available for you in the immediate vicinity, directly in the foothills of the dunes.

We are happy to pass on recommendations to you or you will find a large selection on the Internet.
